P1 - Print Based Product Proposal

P1 - Print Based Product Proposal

Purpose and Audience

The Magazine will be created to promote, entertain and inform the motorsport community about upcoming events and new cars. The Magazine will be aimed at aspirers between the ages of 18-25 as it will show some good looking cars that they can aspire to have when they are older. The Magazine will be aimed mostly at men (although some women will still like the Magazine) as the trope around Motorsport Magazines is that mainly men view them. The video will be marketed to aspirers as they will like the Magazine due to its materialistic idea, of obtaining new products and vehicles.
Another purpose is that the magazine needs to attract the correct audience. I believe that the audience it will attract will be between the ages of 16-30 as it will be aimed at people who may actually be able to purchase a car magazine, as I am going to be showing off quite nice cars in the magazine. I will probably aim the magazine at the ABC1 demographic, as these people are those that have the largest amount of money, thus will be able to afford them. However, I don’t just believe that the it will be only for these as it will also be aimed at aspirers who may want to purchase them when they grow older, and advance into higher paid jobs.

Form

The form will be a Magazine, a two-page spread that will show supercars and events that the motorsport community can be informed as well as informed of them. I will create a two-page spread that will allow interviews, sneak peeks and adverts all centred around the world of motorsport.   The double-page spread that I am going to complete will be a minimalist picture of an old Alfa Romeo, with a description of the car on the right of the page, this will create the idea that the magazine is a luxury magazine that people can look at and aspire to.

Working Title:

I will have the working title of “Gear Up” I like the name of the magazine that I have chosen because it related to cars, as well as it is a positive title for a magazine. I may end up changing it later if I believe that it would look better when I create the magazine. I think that overall having the title related to a cars gear is a good idea as it is a format that has already been proven to work in TV shows such as top gear and fifth gear.

This could help attract an audience as they will see the word gear and may associate it with the other magazines and could think that it is similar in function. This is a good idea because the magazine will automatically be placed in the same bracket as the car magazines such as Top Gear and Fifth Gear this gives the magazine merit even though it is in its first edition.

Content for Magazine

On the front I will have an image of a nice looking car that I can get in a good position so that it will fit on the page but also only be A4, as I cannot have the full length of the car I have to get the image on an angle.
Inside the magazine I will create an article that will go on the double page spread. I will centre the article around one of the cars that I take a picture of, this is important as the image that I use on the inside needs to be related to the article that I will write for the double page spread.
I will have to take a picture of a car for the front cover of the magazine, I want this to be an image of a car facing forward, perhaps a front shot would be best for the cover as it is an easy shape to cut out and place, as well as it would make it easier to make the magazine seem bolder, due to the colour of the car, I will probably use a white car as it will allow me to use a bold colour scheme, as the colour white promotes the use of bold colours such as red, yellow and black

Resources Required

We will need several resources to create the Magazine, such as Photoshop which will be used to edit and create the magazine as well as cameras to take pictures of the cars. I will also have to use Adobe InDesign, which will allow me to create my double page spread, as it allows of a function that lets me make the colours for a news article, without having to create any problems with programmes like Microsoft Publisher, which can cause problems when using textboxes.
I will also need a copy of Adobe Photoshop, which will allow me to create the front cover for the magazine. Photoshop is a powerful tool that will allow me to make the best front cover that I can. It has many tools such as creating shapes, lots of text options and photo editing to make the shots that I will take better and more artistic.

Style and Approach:

I will create an elegant look into the world of motorsport as well as inform people about upcoming events about motorsport, I will try to make the front page and the double page spread seem extremely high class, as well as informative, I will make the colour scheme quite bold colours, as well as a lot of white in the backgrounds to make the idea that the cars are in a showroom. This is because it makes it seem like the cars which are not actually brand new, are the new and work well, as they are being showed off.

This look into the motorsport world is usually what most people want as cars are seen as either luxury items or they are seen as old and shoddy. I have to appeal to both sides when creating the magazine so I may have an old car or a new car on the front and then hint at some newer cars on the inside, as a way to show that the magazine dabbles in both sides of the spectrum. This could help attract people to read the magazine as they may be interested in an older car, so if they see something about an older car in the menu they may want to pick the magazine up.

Distribution Plan

The distribution plan is to release a magazine each week as the magazine will be titled “Motorsport Weekly” meaning that the magazine will have to be produced each week. A physical copy would be a good idea because it would mean that people could look at the magazine.
Another way that we could distribute the magazine would be on the internet. This would involve creating a website that would house the information, instead of creating an actual magazine, and use money on printing the money could instead go towards things like improving the writing, images and site.

Another way that we could distribute the magazine would be on the internet. This would involve creating a website that would house the information, instead of creating an actual magazine, and use money on printing the money could instead go towards things like improving the writing, images and site. Or the magazine could be sent via email, or published onto a website such as Facebook, allowing people to see the magazine when they want. However, when magazine is put on the internet the form usually needs to adapt as people can just look elsewhere for the information and find it in a form that makes it easier for them to view.

P1 - Mood Board

P2 - Motorsport Mood Board Magazine

Analysis

I have made a moodboard that is associated with the top of motorsport. The moodboard has several new cars on it and some old cars as well, the different types of cars that I have included will allow all types of motorsport fans to view the magazine, as all of the demographics are ticked.
I have also included some of the logos for the cars as I think I will also be able to focus on the manufacturers of the vehicles as well. This is a good way to add in variety to the magazine, as it means that I will be able to talk about the designers on the cars as well.
I have tried to make the moodboard as bold as possible as cars usually have bold and bright primary colours or shades of white and black, this means that when I create the magazine I will be using lots of primary colours as they are bold and bright as it will match the cars that I am going to be taking pictures of.

P2 - Magazine Page Analysis

P2 - Magazine Page Analysis

P2 - Front Page Diagram and Annotations

M1 - Marketing and Distribution

M1 - Marketing and Distribution

Distribution Plan:

The magazine could be distributed online as it can reach the biggest audience. Due to our location it will be difficult to find a large audience for our magazine as we live in a small town. Using the internet distribute our magazine is the best choice as it will be able to reach a larger audience as we can use many methods to achieve more views.
A distribution method we could use is by uploading the Magazine to a news outlet, as the largest demographic on News Sites is the same demographic as the Magazine I’m creating. We could also put the Magazine on its own website so we can advertise the site on other pages with adverts. This will add to the viewer count as we could have adverts with images on the cars so that they can see what the magazine is about.
Another distribution plan would be to use Instagram and Facebook to show the Magazine to the audience, this can be useful as it will also reach a large audience and people will be more likely to see it as it will show up when they for Motorsport related things.
I think the best way to distribute the magazine would be by a physical copy that is delivered each week, this is because it is the most widely used format therefor it is a working format. Also many people who get motorsport magazines also like to have a physical copy so that they can stick pictures of the cars to their walls, as they aspire to have the cars that will be shown. I think that this is an important aspect to having a magazine, as it is yours to do what you want with, giving he customers the option to use the pages as they please.

Marketing:

There are many ways to market a Written Product, we will use some above the belt to market our Magazine
Pre-Release
During Release
Post Release
Before the release, we could use posters and online adverts to show the idea off to the audience, it will help create an audience for us and see if the Magazine is anticipated or if there is no audience.

Some more ways to advertise and market in the pre-release phase of the marketing is to allow people to view a pre-release build/version of the magazine, allowing them to generate an opinion before the articles/magazine is completed. This allows the creation to go ahead if they believe it is what they want, or allowing you to change some of the magazine before the release.
During the release, we could use things such as radio adverts and Podcasts to show help inform people about the Magazine to create a buzz about the product as it is being released.

There are some more interesting ways of advertising the magazine such as brand deals, where the magazine company can cooperate with another product or company to generate exposure for the product, for example when the first Halo game came out, if you pre-ordered the game you would get a free bottle of Mountain Dew, a Helmet and a bag of Doritos.
After the initial buzz of the release, we can use posters and adverts to retain views and product views as the fans will want to look at it many times.
As well as a continued, release of more versions.

Some ways to help market the product after magazine has been release would be to have some questionnaires be sent out with the magazine, asking for responses on what the magazine may need or what can be improved, so that the next edition can be marketed more correctly to what the customers may want.

The marketing needs to appeal to the audience demographics that we are looking to aim the Magazine toward. Therefore, the marketing needs to make sure that it appeals to the demographic.
I would suggest that creating some posters for the Magazine would be a good idea as they are very marketable and don’t require much time to create something that looks really good. I would suggest using an image of the Super Cars as well as a logo for the Magazine, working title e.c.t.
I will need to market the magazine to the correct audience, this means that I need to make sure that I have done the correct research to make sure that I am doing the correct thing when creating the magazine, I will have to use things like psychographics and demographics. Firstly, will make sure that I market the magazine to the correct psychographic of people, I think that I will be marketing the magazine to people who are aspirers, this means that they are people who aspire to have better lives, these people are the ones that will want more in their life, using the magazine to drive their aspiration.
I will also have to make sure that I am aiming at the correct band of people when I am marketing my magazine, I will mostly market my magazine that people who are in the lower CDE2 band as they are the ones that are not as likely to have an expensive or antique car.  This is because to aim at aspirers you have to give them something that they can aspire towards, people in the ABC1 band may already have the expensive cars.
I will be distributing the magazine in the northwest region, which means that I can add region specific events or deals that can be marketed towards the audience, this means that they can feel as in the magazine is accommodating of them, thus creating a friendly customer relationship.

P2 - Double Page Spread Diagram and Annotation

I will use clean fonts that do not take away from the viewing of the cars that I will have on the left hand page of the magazine.

The Text on the right will be placed into two columns as it will be the best way to display the information. I think that I will probably have to trim down the article that I have written as I think ti will be too long for the page. I will most probably make the text white as it will allow the reader to see the text against the background.
I will place a small Alfa Romeo logo in the top right an I may also place one behind the text and make it slightly transparent as it will make the page look more interesting, if I do this I will have the shape be from the bottom right of the page, as it will take up the least amount of space whilst still looking interesting.

I will probably use the colour of the car as the colour of the title, as it makes sense to match the car to the article, and I will try and find the font that Alfa Romeo uses in their logo to have at the top to keep the consistency between the make of car and the article that I have written.
This image will probably be the image I use as it is the car that I have written the article about.

I will most probably flip the image so that the car is facing towards the text as I think the shape of the image will not allow the full car onto the double page spread, so imay have to crop the image and make it so that the image can easily fit onto the  I will most probably leave the right hand side white and have the image on the left.

Another image that I may use could be the other one that I have included, as it would look interesting on the page, as the car is much more elegant and fancy than the other red car. I like the silver colour but I will have to edit this image to remove the shade on the car, as it was taken when the sun wasn’t overhead.

P3 - SWOT Analysis

P3 - SWOT Analysis – Magazine

Strength

We think a strength to the magazine is that it will be a good showcase for motorsport; it will show new cars, motorbikes and important information, such as events and scores of the F1. I think men meaning that we can focus adverts and information towards the male demographic as they will read a racing magazine more.
Another strength is that the Motorsport magazine will be easy to produce, as most of the magazine will need to be images, as describing a car is the last thing that people want, usually people would rather look at the images of the nice cars instead of reading about them.

Weakness

A weakness to the magazine is that not many women will be interested in the magazine. My research has found that more men will be interested in the magazine than women will, as they are the main demographic.
Another problem is that car magazines can be quite expensive to make because I will have to ask for the cars or I would have to ask for permission off a company that has showrooms to take pictures of the cars inside. This would make it an inexpensive way to take pictures of expensive cars, as I would only need shots of the exteriors I could get the pictures easily inside a showroom.

Opportunities

An opportunity I will have is that I will be able to take pictures of cars during the holidays, meaning that I can go to London and take pictures of the supercars myself meaning that I can bypass copyright laws as they will be my own images, I just need to ask permission off the owners.
I live close to a showroom where I could ask take take some images of the cars within the showroom; this would be a good idea, as it would mean that I could have a good way of taking the pictures easily with high quality and expensive cars.
I could also include an interview from an up and coming race star that will allow me to have an interview inside the magazine. This would be a good way to make the inside page easier to make, as it means that I would only have to

Threats

Some problems that could arise when I am creating the magazine is that I won’t get permission to take pictures of the cars when I attend the car festival, meaning that I will not have any materials to use to create the magazine.
Another problem is that I could easily make the magazine look unprofessional by making the front look bad by using bad images of the cars. Therefore I will have to take lots of images of the cars that I will be using to make sure that I have a wide variety of images to use.

P3 - Photograph Plans

Photograph Plans

1st Photo:

The First photo will be of Matthew Kimmins in a helmet and jumpsuit to make himself appear as driver for a race car. This picture will be used for the interview so that I can make it look like he is a professional driver. I think this will be a good photo to use and won’t be too difficult to create and will be a good way of padding out the double page spread.

2nd Photo:

The second photo will be a photo of a sports car; this image will be used on page 2 when insert my car review. The image needs to show a profile shot of a car and a side shot of the car, hopefully I will be able to find a review of the car on the internet that can base my review on so that I don’t actually need to drive the car.

3rd Photo:

The third photo will be of a motorbike, I will have a many shots of someone on and off the motorbike so that I can choose what one I want the most. I am thinking that a picture of someone riding the motorbike will be the best option as it is the most action packed image that I can include.

Extra Photos

If I can will also get some more photos of more cars in the upcoming car festivals in my local area, this will be a good idea as I will be able to get some images of some older cars that I can use inside the article, as I think I will create a more elegant looking and minimalistic review of an older car, so if a can find a good one that’s a bright colour I will be able to create the article about it.
Another photo opportunity I may have is taking a picture of the front of a car, I think this would be a good way to fill up a large portion of the magazine’s front page if I do not want to put much writing on the front. I think that having the front of a car would be a good way to convey that the magazine is a car magazine without people having to look at the title.

Photoshoot Risk Assessment:

The main risk when I will be taking the photos for the magazine involves traffic. The main danger is that I will get hit by a car whilst taking the photos. I will make sure that I will only take pictures of cars on the road from the pavement. I will also make sure that the driver for the motorbike will; be someone who is a safe driver and can legally drive it as well.
Another risk is that I could accidentally scratch or damage one of the cars that I will take the photos of. I will make sure that I won’t go too close to the cars just in case something happens. This is to avoid creating any problems in the future or having to pay to repair a car. I will make sure that I do not touch any of the cars that I will be taking a picture of.

P4 - Creating Pre-Production Materials, Image Editing

P4 - Image Editing Examples

 Image 1
This image is the one that will go inside the double page spread that I will eventually create, when I want to add it in I will have to edit the image to make it look better, for example I may want to increase the contrast of the image. This is to make the red colour of the car pop out more and contrast against the green grass.
I went to the top right and increased the contrast so that I could make the image more appealing and bright.
Overall, I think it was a good idea because it makes the shade on the car less noticeable, as well as makes the red colour brighter creating a better picture.

Image 2

This is the image of the other car that I might use inside my double page spread, I wanted the image to appear shinier as the silver of the car needs to be exposed, as well as the contrast increased to make the shine appear brighter, and more prominent.

To achieve a shinier look I had to make the little white slider underneath the graph a little lower, as it means that the colours become brighter.

Image 3
I wanted to remove the background on this image as well as increase the contrast of the white, to do this I had to crush the blacks on the image to remove some of the darker sports then increase the whites to increase the white colour of the car.

Overall I would Say that the final comparison between the two images is impressive as the car on the right is obviously better looking, as well as brighter and of a higher quality.

P4 - Double Page Spread Writing

P4 - Double Page Spread Writing

Alfa Romeo Writing

Here is an old Alfa Romeo, created in 1983 The new Spider featured some important changes in exterior design, including new rubber-made bumpers that were not very well-received by the Alfa Romeo customers. Its first facelift happened three years later, in 1986, featuring newly-designed side skirts, mirrors and spoilers.
“Now you can’t tell me that seeing these cars on the road wouldn’t make you smile. Especially when it is in that hot red colour, it makes my day seeing old cars just like this one. I believe that these cars although they are very bad for the environment due to the emissions from the engine, but that doesn’t mean that we can’t have cars that look like this. I mean, when did we stop making cars that look sleek and fast, and start making cars that look like they’re from the future”
The Alfa Romeo club was created to show everyone that old cars were just as stylish as the modern day counterparts, touring the UK showing off the cars to the public was a great idea. The owner has said that the main goal is to “show off the cars” The club consists of 1200 people and around 560 cars, which travel across the country to show off and parade the cars around. Although the Romeo is an Italian designer, more were sold in the UK, it’s like the car equivalent of curry. The club was founded in 1999 after the internet was really established allowing people to come together over their love of cars. It’s sweet that all these people have come together over their love of cars, especially such a nice and attractive car.
“I would like to see more types of car groups touring the UK this summer, however it does take some coordination and brains to manage a group of 1200 people, especially transporting that amount of cars, but in the end it’s really worth it. The group consists of over 50 types of cars which are located all through the UK in all sorts of conditions, it’s a real task”
Currently the club has another 37 destinations to visit in the north of England, including places like Liverpool, Knowsley, Manchester and Carlisle.
“The plans have been quite successful and don’t think that the bad English weather will stop people from showing up and enjoying themselves. All the events have catering and toilet facilities and can be a great day out for the whole family. It cost’s nothing to get into the event.
On behalf of the Rawcliffe Hall Classic Car Enthusiasts, we would like to invite all owners of any make of classic vehicle from the 1940’s to 1970’s to join us for a great weekend at Rawcliffe Hall, just 7 miles to the East of Blackpool, Lancashire. The event which starts on Friday 7th July 2017 and finishes on Sunday 9th JuIy will be a great opportunity to meet other owners, and have a great time taking part in various activities which will include a road run through spectacular Local countryside visiting places of interest. Also included will be a Concours D’elegance with a major trophy for overall winner, and a great Free Rock ‘n’ Roll extravaganza on the Saturday night - plus other items.”
Overall it sounds like a great day out, if you look on the website North West car festivals you can check all the dates where the festival is on, you can also check the weather and how long it will take to get there. There is also another website that you can look at on the Alfa Romeo fan club where you can see where the cars are going next. Hopefully there will be more car festivals in the coming years and will gain more attention, there’s a whole world of motorsport out there and people need to see what cars were like at a time of great progress, from the 1960 – 2000’s.

M2 - Legal and Ethical Issues

M2 - Legal and Ethical Issues

Legal

I must make sure that I adhere to all the legal requirements when I am shooting and creating my product. One of the main reasons I should adhere to all the rules that have been set out is so that I can create a legitimate product that can stand legally.
For example, I must make sure that whenever I take a picture of a car I must get written permission to take the image of the car. Making sure that I have permission mean is important as it means that I can actually take the images. I must also make sure that I don’t damage it in anyway, to avoid a fine or even a criminal charge.
When taking images of cars, I must make sure that when I put them onto the magazine front cover I will erase the number plate on the front of the car, this is because people can search for he number plate to see if it has been a car that has been robbed, as the licence plate has a history. I will have to eye drop a colour that the licence plate is and then fill it in so that I can remove the numbers and letters without making the images seem too edited.
Another legal issue I must address is that if I use an image from the internet I must make sure that the copyright holder has let me use the image legally. I must make sure that I adhere to the copyright and patents act so that I can do so legally. If the original author finds the image on the magazine they can be asked for the images to be removed from the magazine or they can ask for the image to be paid for so that I can continue to use it when I have the magazine created.
If I write a review about a car in the magazine I must make sure that I don’t use excessive language are anything that could be seen as libel. Making sure that the review is fair and just is an important part of writing reviews because it means that the magazine can be trusted as a reliable source of information, this is important as a business because it creates trust between the people companies how create the cars and the people who create the magazine. This is a good relationship to have as it means that you can get some important things for free. Some things that come as a benefit of writing some reviews that are just are the fact that if the car company like the review they may be inclined to send you some more things to review.

Ethical Issues

If I want to take images of people, I must make sure that they have said that I can use images of them. I must also make sure that if they don’t I must not use the image that I have taken. I will also make sure that if I accidentally get someone in the shot I won’t use that image unless I can ask them if I can user the image.
Another ethical issue that I must make sure I don’t do is give a car a good review if it is not deserved, this is important as is lying to the audience. It is important that all the reviews are honest, backed up by facts and statistics. A reason this can be seen as a problem is that people could think that the review has been paid for by the car company.
I will have to represent the people in the magazine correctly, as I cannot create something that shows the people in a bad light.

M3 + D1 - Magazine Conventions in my Finished Product

M3 + D1  - Magazine Conventions in my Finished Product

My Finished Magazine

Masthead

This is my masthead, this is what the reader will see when the magazine is on the shelf, it also has the pug that is the price and the barcode. I really like the Masthead which also functions like a logo because I like the font that I have chosen, as it reminds me of the fonts that old car companies used when they would advertise their cars.
I placed a wheel behind the name of the magazine, which I changed from Motorsport Weekly, to Wheels, as I believed that Motorsport Weekly was to wordy and long to fit on the masthead properly, without damaging the look of the magazine. I placed the image of a when in the back being the W as I thought it added to the aesthetic of the magazine. Then I placed two lines underneath, which I thought acted like go fast stripes on a car, enforcing the whole motorsport aesthetic that I have been creating for the magazine.
I also chose the colour red for the colour of the magazines name, as I believed that it was a good contrast for the black, grey and silver of the wheel and its rim. I think that red was the best choice as it is usually a very bold and bright colour that can catch the readers eye.
I placed the pugs on the top right of the magazine as I thought it would be a good place to see it, this is because when the magazine is on a shelf you can only really see the masthead. So having the price at the top right makes the most sense as it is the place where people would take and grab the magazine by, as most people reach out with their right hand.

Menu

This is the menu for my magazine, I have chosen two large shapes that are different to display what is inside my magazine. I have chosen to display these in red with a white font. I have made sure to include what would be inside the magazine, as it is important to show the reader what they can get inside the magazine. Making sure there is clarity for the reader is a good thing as they understand what they are purchasing when they obtain the magazine.
I have also added in a small little badge that says that there are “10 classic cars inside”. I really like the look of the small badge as it is an interesting shape that doesn’t distract the reader too much, I have also used the colour red for this shape as it highlights to the reader what is inside the magazine.

Headline

This is my magazines Headline, I have chosen quite a bright and abstract look for the design of the Headline. I really like the look of it with the bold and stencil font. It really makes the magazine have a more impactful look, which can be seen from a distance. It is important to make the Headline be as bold and bright as possible as it needs to attract the potential readers eye.
I have chosen to make my Headline be about the classical car images that I had taken earlier in the year. I think it is a good idea as I have several images of some classic cars, making sure that the Headline is actually about something within the article is important, as having something on the outside that is not on the inside is false advertising.
I like the look of the white text with the black outline as it makes the words pop out of the magazine. I have also tried to align the text correctly so that the “Iconic” and the “Cars of the UK” both line up together, meaning that they are essentially the same size, both one is smaller acting as a subheading.

Exclusivity

I have said that there is an exclusive interview in the magazine, as having something be exclusive is a good way to make people want to read a magazine, if they are interested in the subject or the person being interviewed. Exclusivity makes the magazine seem like an invite only club, where to gain the knowledge or interest inside the magazine the reader has to pay to access it. This is a good idea as it means that the intrigue of the reader will be increased if they read the menu.
Suggesting something is exclusive is also a good way to gain more recognition, as if a large star does an interview with your magazine, they can use their status as an influencer to recommend people to read the article in your magazine, overall having exclusive items are an important way to interest people in the product.

Box Out

I have used some box out to show the user what they can win within the magazine as well as a subheading for an article that would be inside the magazine. Making sure that the colours and the text contrast each other, as well as putting an outline on the box is important as they are essentially little snippets if what is inside, so it is important to make them look good.
In the bottom one I have used exclusivity again as well as have mad the shape more irregular to follow the side of the car, as I did not want the square to go over the image. I have made the shape yellow and white, usually associated with things like taxis and road lines, it helps enforce the feel of motoring in the magazine.
The box above I have used a red font and then highlighted the words “Grand Sport” this would be large and bolder as well as in black to put emphasis on what is inside the magazine. This is called a “Lure” which can make people want to read the magazine based of a short word or phrase, if they are interested in the subject.

Kicker/Puff

This works as my kicker, as it Is in a different font from the rest of the article, it is a different font which show the reader that it is an important subject. I have also put the text inside a pointed circle, I have chosen to do this as I wanted a variety of different shapes that can be used. I have chosen the red and white as it is a good look for most shapes that have to stand out on-top of an already quite bright and populated magazine. I really like the look of the badge like shape, which could also be made metallic if the magazine was a special edition. This is an interesting way to make the magazine front cover something more than it is, as it adds a sense of value to the cover, as well as the contents.
This is in the shape of a puff which entails some more contents of the magazine.

Evaluation

Overall I really like what I have created on the front of the magazine. I like the colour scheme that I have chosen for the magazine as it enforces the racing theme of the magazine. Making sure that there is clarity for the reader is a good idea as it ensures they know what they are getting when they purchase the magazine.
Another thing that I like about the magazine is the image that I have chosen. The car that I have chosen is a nice new model of a Dacia, which is shown front on. I really like the choice of image because it was a good way to fill out a large portion of the space. It also makes the page seem new as the car I took a photo of was quite new.
Something I wish I could change about the magazine would be adding more to the bottom of the page, it looks to me that I have heavily populated the top of the page but have left lots of space at the bottom where I could have had more information about the inside of the magazine on it. If I could go back, I would make the car image smaller and then add some text at the bottom of the page with white dots separating them as another way of showing what is inside the magazine. I feel as if I could have added more at the bottom of the page

Image Editing

I have had to edit all of the images that I have included when creating the magazine front, this because I wanted to have the cars that I have used to not have an image in the background, therefore I had to use the magic wand tool to erase as much of the background as I could, then had to get closer with the eraser tool, meaning that the outline of the images is really smooth and crisp, as the magic wand tool leaves some fuzz on the edges of the image. I think that doing this by hand is important as you can really get the best look when editing the images.

Another thing that I had to do was brighten some of the images that I had taken, as I had taken some in the shade. I had to go into Photoshop to edit the magazine together, so I had access to all of he tools that would allow me to edit the images to how I wanted them. The car on the front cover that I have used

Here are the images that i had edited to make look better for the inside and the front of the magazine. I used these images because I thought they were the best quality images that I had taken

I liked the colours that were available to me if I chose these images to be the ones that I would showcase for the Exhibition. I really like the look of the White car at the bottom after I had finished editing the image, as it looks much better that the unmodified image.

i Put the most work into making the white car look the best as it was to go on the front cover. I made the image slightly blue as the hue slider allowed me to make the image more crisp.

Post-Production Techniques

Post Production is the phase of the creation process where the final product is refined and polished to make it better and more suitable for the clients and or reader of the magazine. It is almost like proof reading the article and making changes to it that will help improve the outcome of the magazine.

Some post production techniques that I have used involve making all of the poster posterized. This is a good way to make the poster have a final crisp quality that makes it seem more

How I Have Met the Client Brief

I have made the article about a community of old school car lovers who are touring the UK with some of their old cars showing them off during the summer. This helps to showcase a community of avid car lovers that all travel together and show them off.
The community of people touring the UK showcasing old cars will help bring communities together in a day out that will allow people who like cars to meet a community that will share the same interests, it could also help show people interesting history and interesting things about historical cars.

Overall the magazine’s double page spread is dedicated to showcasing a community of people who share an interest for the cars showcased in the magazines.
